Ester,
Five stars if it wasn't so annoying What I didn't like:When action was necessary, the 18 year old boy/main character, wasted time talking with the AI。 Once by debating the morality of killing and the second time by trying to figure out the risk to himself which ended up costing lives。There was way too much unnecessary introspection and conversation for the length and content of this story。 Five stars if it wasn't so annoying What I didn't like:When action was necessary, the 18 year old boy/main character, wasted time talking with the AI。 Once by debating the morality of killing and the second time by trying to figure out the risk to himself which ended up costing lives。There was way too much unnecessary introspection and conversation for the length and content of this story。 。。。more
Jackie,
Another amazing scifi story to keep you intrigued Kevin sees a spaceship crash right in front of him。 What can he do but try to help。 This is a surprise for him。 Can’t wait for the next instalment。
Bob,
Written to Teen AudienceBest read by teens where it could garner more stars than I'm willing to give。I'd recommend this for teens。 Written to Teen AudienceBest read by teens where it could garner more stars than I'm willing to give。I'd recommend this for teens。 。。。more
Mick Bird,
Well once again it appears that Christian has given his readers a new and interesting series。 Book one has introduced us to Kevin who sees an alien space craft makes a controlled crash in a lake near his home。 Kevin tries to help the survivor and here is where his and our adventure begins!
Michael Murphy,
I very much enjoyed this revision of the first book in the Far Beyond series。 Kevin is a teenage slacker on Earth。 He observes a spaceship crash into a nearby lake。 He is chosen by the dying alien pilot to help his people, the Arcadian Confederate, in their battle for survival against the hostile Kregans, based on the extraordinary acumen Kevin displays on video space battles。 He is whisked mentally to outer space, to an Arcadian vessel in the middle of a battle, where he is paired with an AI wh I very much enjoyed this revision of the first book in the Far Beyond series。 Kevin is a teenage slacker on Earth。 He observes a spaceship crash into a nearby lake。 He is chosen by the dying alien pilot to help his people, the Arcadian Confederate, in their battle for survival against the hostile Kregans, based on the extraordinary acumen Kevin displays on video space battles。 He is whisked mentally to outer space, to an Arcadian vessel in the middle of a battle, where he is paired with an AI who guides him through the vessel’s operation and weaponry。 This is a wild ride, as Kevin has to decide to take actions in real life-or-death situations, with little time to think, just react。 I read for entertainment – Mr。 Kallias fills the bill with far-fetched make believe that doesn’t have to make sense or follow the laws of physics - it’s just fun to read!! 。。。more
James ,
This lighthearted sci-fi adventure is a short delight。 The characters, a young 18 year old boy occupying a dead aliens body, an AI learning to be alive, a "solid" hologram pet and more are a fun, new introduction to a reissued series。 This is a quick, easy-to-read novella that will entrance readers of all ages。 I received an ARC and this is my honest review of this novelette。 This lighthearted sci-fi adventure is a short delight。 The characters, a young 18 year old boy occupying a dead aliens body, an AI learning to be alive, a "solid" hologram pet and more are a fun, new introduction to a reissued series。 This is a quick, easy-to-read novella that will entrance readers of all ages。 I received an ARC and this is my honest review of this novelette。 。。。more
